Dr. Denise King, serves as the Assistant Director of Retirement and Benefits for New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association and Consultant Coach for several schools in Camden, Trenton and Hamilton. She has served as an administrator leader in the Burlington, Camden and Willingboro school districts. Recently retired after 18 years as an elementary principal and 30 years of educational service in diverse learning environments, Dr. King is a true advocate for the underrepresented student and focuses on supporting each student and teacher using the foundation of Teaching, Learning and Achieving Excellence. Denise earned her Bachelor of the Arts degree from Rutgers University, Masters of Education from HBCU Cheyney University and Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
Her professional experiences include: teacher, professional development facilitator, director, consultant, mentor, coach, vice principal, and principal. She has received prestigious recognition as a National Distinguished Principal (NAESP Valic Award) recognized under the tenure of President Barack Obama, the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association Visionary Elementary Principal and the NJ Department of Education Visionary Elementary Principal awards recognized in
our own historic state capitol.
She is a new author of her memoir: Unshakeable Faith! Navigating Racism in the American School System and CEO of Dr Denise King, LLC, a company focused on spotlighting black entrepreneurs and honoring the legacies of community trailblazers. Denise is married to husband Marcus, the mother of three awesome sons, caretaker of her precious granddaughter and mom, all living in a
multigenerational home filled with love and laughter. Born, raised and educated in Camden, NJ, Denise, one of four siblings, credits her parents with teaching them the importance of hard work and education, to always be respectful, stay humble and embrace diversity for a successful journey.
Dr King is proud to serve as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Pi Mu Omega Chapter in Willingboro. Humbled and grateful Denise celebrates the achievements of those who paved the way for her and others and strives to pay it forward.🤎
